When my Griff is "done" over the winter I fully expect it'll be able to out-corner my old C4 comfortably yes

Woo hoo I've lured a Tivver back in... let the goading commence...

Canoes, flat beds, glue, russians ... er... dog head lamps .. er... did i say flat bed yet?

Fair do's, the guys in the real (but closed) TVR link were better at it than me... I just didnt wanna see it die!

(I dont dislike TVRs, i just loved the banter!)

My Griff has been 100% reliable thus far and if it breaks I can fix it with bits of tube and resin for pence.... No wonder I've been smiling since I got her drivingbiggrin

Well if a hot tub can out-corner a C4 then yes, a hot tub.

Anyway, hot tub, what do you know about the vagaries of TVR heater controls? They're even less effective than a 993's biggrin

If there is an owner of a 95 vintage 993 in the Sheffield area, that is of simular performance to my Chimeara, I would be interested in meeting up and comparing the two vehicles.

Im not talking about a race, but a short drive of each others vehicles?
If there is an owner of a Carrera GT in Herefordshire that fancies a quick swap into my leaky 944 (currently with garden wire coming in the drivers windows as a throttle, emergency repair got me home!) then I would be interested in meeting up and comparing vehicles.

I'm DEFINATELY not talking about a race and I'll try not to break your expensive clutch the way i broke my throttle cable... STAMP STAMP you WILL change down a gear!

Any chance you can record your engine noise onto a CD, I can then play it real loud and try n trick people into thinking I have a V8.

I did used to have a V8... but 928's really dont sound nasty enough.

Won't happen I'm afraid Fraser. A standard 993 will be way ahead of a standard 4.0 Chim on performance and handling.

My old 3.2 Carrera would leave both my Griff 500s for dead in the twisties ... and I reckon probably on a run aswell ... although that particular 911 was a little bit special I'll admit (why the feck did I sell it!!!)

Would the owner of the 996 C4S revving the nuts off of it whilst in fairly heavy traffic in Birmingham City Centre wants to swap cars with me for a quick comparison I'll happily meet up and swap... I want to see why you held back so much on the clear roundabout after so many bursts of accel in a straight line. I was in the wide wheeled Smart car that overtook you onto the next dual carriageway - I know you saw me because you pretty much ran the red light soon after to prove you can out accelerate a 599cc shoe. That must be some car you have there... really. rolleyes

Thankfully I've seen enough well driven Porsches at Sprints and Hillclimbs to know you are just a muppet, but I'll look past that for a quick swap. smile

Rob - sounds like you've got your work cut out (along with cutting out rusty bits of chassis and side riggers)

hehe

Britney Spears in a 356 .... whatever you think of them now... there was a time that you'd be glad to be inside either of them.

Nah, my old C4 wasn't quick round corners, the Boxster would leave it for dead yes The Griff currently sits somewhere in the middle of the two but after the winter it'll be a little "special" too thumbup
