Firstly long time no see, havehad a lot going on in my life lately and not had chance to get online really, but am back now!

Have changed clutch in the 964, however next job is the lambda probe, it was pretty tired before the clutch change and during the change it got squashed, now the engine has interesting tick over, which is most likely the lambda sensor shorting.

My question is as my car is decatted is it possible to remove the sensor? If so what is the bridge I need to make up for the wires? Is there any resistance there or just a wire? Mine is a 3 wire lambda probe. Does removal cause any damage to the engine/ecu?

Thanks!

It is not advisable to bridge the lambda as it causes the ecu to run a single value setting, It is better to have the lambda to alter the fueling even though you are de-catted.

Ok I'll pop a new Lambda on, I must admit this is the reason it has run the lambda for a couple of years even though it has been decatted, but now it needs a new one was wondering if I could get away without it.

Anyone know who's cheapest at the moment?

Eurocarparts are showing about £20 for a Walkers probe and up to £70 for a Bosch.

Just managed to get one for £14 from ecp, ordered the plugs at the same time so I don't feel so bad about the £7.99 postage!
