I went red with black wheels, and I love it!
Porsche is a heart purchase so follow your heart not you head. Silver is in my opinion as dull as dish water (sorry), its run its course... time to brighten things up again now!
If I had a bloody clue how to I would post a picky of my 2s on the way down to Berlin..sadly Ime a ludite (think thats how you spell it??
Good luck..

You also have to consider silver outnumbers red at least 10 to 1, so if you look at the supply and demand there maybe nothing in it, I bought a red Boxster, and had no problem selling it on as the buyer wanted a red one. He mentioned at the time that most were silver or blue, and in his words had spent ages looking for a good one red.

silver is on it's way out as the most desirable colour
I can understand the aversion to silver as its very popular, but its much easier to keep the paint looking clean, doesnt require the more specialist and expensive waxes used to get the same shine as on the darker and certainly older cars and is, as we all know, safer for resale. And a well washed, polished car in silver is a striking car.If you can afford to not worry at all about the colour at resale time then you are in a lucky man financially. If you REALLY can afford not to worry about resale value then get one in that lovely baby sick/mustard yellow that was all the rage in the '70s. It looks great in those old sepia tinted pics, sipping a Martini with wide collars and flares (you, not the car!).
But its a simple fact that resale value, or the ability to sell the car on at all, matters regardless of your asthetic opinion or the depth or your wallet. And whilst red may be in vogue atm, its guaranteed that regardless of the popularity of red, silver will still be a better seller whenever you come to sell your red car.
Then again, if you REALLY want a red one.......
My completely personal opinion and I would be dissapointed if people didn't disagree with me ...
Don't fancy red too much on a 997, have seen a couple and they just don't do it for me. On the positive side the modern organic red pigments they use in the paint coupled with modern additives mean they don't fade like they use to.
Silver, personally I think they look decent and very much easier to keep clean.
