I may be a touch paranoid, but.....
I was driving (944 S2)home from work tonight and my oil warning light came on, I have checked it recently and it did seem fine.
Any how, stopped at the next petrol station and topped it up with a litre of oil.
I must say Northways were spot on, as I couldn't remember what oil was used on the last service (10 months ago)so a quick phone call and they let me know exactly what oil was used, and assured me a gentle drive home on the light would be fine.
I now keep checking the oil pressure gauge and was wondering how it should behave?
When I first start the car up it sits at about 4, then once its warmed up it drops between 1 & 3 and when I accelerate it goes up to 4 again.
Does this sound about right?
Thanks
Alex

When you start from cold, the gauge should peg at 5 bar, gradually falling to about 2 when its fully warmed up
The pressure sounds like its within Porsche tolerance, though I'd expect it to be nearer 5 bar when accelerating hard if the engine is in good nick.
Mine used to idle at about 2 bar when warm on the road, but could drop to just under 1 after a few hard laps of Knockhill, then would climb back up to about 2 when it cooled down a bit. Car had 107k when I sold it.
