Looking at the latest 996 GT3 RS for sale from Cars of Malton

Theres also a 997 GT3 for sale in Bristol OPC for £85 K -

back in Dec 06 / Jan 07 the difference was at least 30 K to trade up
does this mean the 996 RS is going up in value ???

No. I'd have thought it means the dealer is asking too much for the 996 and people are realising they can't ask stoopid money for the 997 anymore - especially with all the talk of a MK2. I think the 996 is HOLDING it's value though. a 996 GT3 RS for sale at £69,995 with 10,000 miles

Thre was a good low miles '04 in the classifieds recently reduced to £59,950...good value, believe it sold at that level.
Early Gt3 are looking reasonable value against some of the air cooled cars, shame they are such heavy barges though
Indeed there was that needed new tyres , discs & pads all roundEarly Gt3 are looking reasonable value against some of the air cooled cars, shame they are such heavy barges though

o4 car priced at 60k with lowish miles, something must be wrong. if i was to sell mine i would want around the 70k mark. why, because it is undamaged(alot are)not tracked original car in perfect condition.
You can ask what ever you want, however its a buyers market as with most things second hand. The 60K car had no aircon - that has always resulted in a kick of circa 5k to value
GOOD RS's are getting rare - lots of damaged cars out there
When I bought mine I turned up bad history on 12 out of 14 cars I looked at !
I think values are good as people realise they are pretty much just as good on track as a 997RS but 40-50K cheaper !
I have even heard a few say they prefer the 996 as a track car
Definatelty a future Classic - it will ber THE 996 to keep and go the same way value wise as 964 and 993 RS
Glad I got a good one while I still could !

I think 996 RSs have picked up a little in value since the dip when I bought mine 2 years ago. In fact it doesn't seem to have depreciated really which is nice, but somewhat academic when you factor in the costs of tyre/brakes and everything else on a car of this nature.

It is booked in to have a full set of brakes and pads, new front bib spoiler and I'll have the brake ducts replaced whilst we are at it --- £3k thankyou.
It had four new tyres, road tax to the end of May 08, all the options described plus a couple of other things --- and it most definitely has Aircon (as per ad).
Yes it did sell at close to the asking price with an allowance towards the brakes --- this way I get to choose.
And it has turned out to be everything the orginal owner described it to be, thanyou John.
Future values like anything are driven by supply and demand.
(Supply) The number of 996 RS's in the uk seems to be less than 130.
(Demand) This seems to be driven by press sentiment / feedback and pricing in relation to other RS variants.
I would not expect that the price for good clean / low mile examples falling much below £60k in the next few years.
