Hello,

I'm `considering` selling my GT3. I don't want to really but it doesn't make sense to get into any new expensive toys without parting with it.

Having said that, it's FAR too good a car to be selling if I can't get a decent price for it. If i had to keep it for another 10 years i wouldn't be upset - it's just that my feet keep getting itchy...

Anyway, what with the market speculation on the price of GT3s on here i wondered what the esteemed thought it would be worth if i did decided to part.

Specs:
2001 GT3 Mk1
Lapis Blue
40k miles
Comfort Spec with Leather buckets
One of, if not the last built RHD Mk1s.
(Specifically commandeered from the production line by Porsche to supply steve o-rourke <porsche racer and manager of pink floyd&gtwink

Has the upgrades that were applied to the last MK1s - electric boot/bonnet releases, alcantara headlining, improved synchros. Xenon light upgrade.

Cargraphic 100CEL cats and Exhaust (can still get on Track Days), new MAF sensors, upgraded Air Filter and Rolling road remapped all added in FEB 2007.

400.3BHP

New Clutch (Car has clubsport flywheel assembly fitted)
and full service last month plus full Geo alignment by Redline Racing

12 months Porsche warranty

Navtrack tracker installed.

Think that's about it...

Many thanks for any responses.

Sounds like just the kind of car I'm after. Unfortunately I need to sell my C2 first and I need the cash to go travelling so I'm not in the market.

However I would have paid £37-39k for a car like that. Lapis would put me off a bit (even though I have a lapis car now)

Fair enough. Although i think Lapis looks fabulous when clean! (keeping it clean ain't so easy...)

Wasn't this car supposed to be shipped to japan before being diverted to England?
Is it C16?

If i had a definite figure in my head i wouldn't be asking other Porsche owners for opinions..

I know what i paid for it and how much has been spent on it. My view is that the Mk1 GT3 market ranges between 35 (LHD) to 45k (low mileage mint RHD)at the moment. Unless you count the £60k Irish ones of course - LOL!

Just trying to get a feel for where mine would fit within that range I guess, as i do think MK1s will hold their value over time, and may well go the way of the earlier RS models soon (already?).

Yours has many pluses, not least being warranty and obvoiusly no expense spared , but am I right in saying it's got no roll bar , and no racing seats?
I've heard lots on line here saying those two items are must haves so that's going to limit your market and maybe bring down the price a tad.
It's not high mileage , but it ain't low (for a '3 ) neither!!
I'd assume that they are mostly track miles ? .. I know they say that doesn't matter if it's well looked after , but the fact is that there's a hell of a differece between track miles and motorway miles .

Having said all that , I covet your car mister and would do all manner of sins to get my hands on it ... As you've pointed out , it'd unforunately cost me a bloody fortune to import (I'm living in Dublin) .. Maybe some day..

This it? (thanks SNDa)

http://www.gmundcars.com/cars/488/996gt3mk1.html at £49k originally.

Nice car..I reckon C16 42k, not C16 38k.

Thanks for the reply. Actually the vast majority of those miles are road miles not track. 3000 round italy and germany just a month or so ago. (it was, in a word, fantastic)

You're right that it hasn't got a roll bar or the alcantara seats (it has the leather high back porsche logo buckets which i think are better though?)

I don't think it's the car for someone who wants a track weapon, or rather, there are cheaper (LHD) and more track focussed GT3s out there if that's what you want. I think it's ideal for someone like me who uses it mainly on the road (where the lack of a roll cage improves practicality) and occasionally on track.

Not sure of the difference between C16 or not Mouse? Everything is UK on it as far as i'm aware. Certainly got a shed load of documentation with it in its Porsche binder, including features on it and original sale invoice.

At least i'm getting more of an idea where to pitch it. The real question is will I regret selling it to buy a Corvette Z06?

Hi B15TTO, Sorry, can't see it mentioned, but has have you got A/C? Per Ballcocks post, several supposed "must-haves" is that this option wasn't un-ticked when new. I havent heard that a half-cage is one of them, however? (that's fairly easily retrofitted for about £500 for OE item)

BTW, sent you email earlier.

Cheers
