996 tt tyre pressures
Discussion
Hi i recently bought a 996 turbo.
Checked the tyre pressures and put them up to 44 rear and 36 fronts which is recomended in the handbook.
Found the ride very bouncy and didn't handle very well at all.
On todays run i put 36 rear and 32 in the front and found it totally different and a much better and more responsive ride altogether.
just wondering how everone else gets on and if you think the handbook recomendation is a bit ott.
Thanks in advance
Gary

Sounds a little high IMO
Check it against the factory label on the inside of the fuel filler cap, from memory my 996GT2 runs 39psi Rear & 34-35psi Front, although the tyre dimensions are slightly larger.
Depending on your driving style and road conditions, a little experimenting should do the trick.

I use the porsche-approved
pressures of 44 and 36 on mine and find it handles brilliantly. When I recently had new tyres fitted they put 36 all-round and it really upset the handling IMO. These cars do seem sensitive to tyre pressures so I guess experiment and find what feels best for you I suppose.
