Rear tyres for 996 Targa on 17" wheels

Hi,

My '02 996 Targa needs new rear tryes on 17" wheels. 255/40. The Michelin Pilot sports ae fine on the front and seem good enough but any better recommendations.

Black Circles had some Continentals that sounded good.

Grateful for any advice - road use only.

hi, I have Mich Pilot Sports on mine in that size and they're really good. Think the Michelins should be better than Continentals. Anyway - general concensus is that you shouldn't mix brands, even front to back, so if you've got Mich on the front, stick with them

Sound advice. Will probably just go for that. Hope you enjoy your car. I've had mine a coupld of months and love it. Targa's maybe not one for the purists but lovely place to sit and handling seems fine. Miss a bit of the character I had in a modified Supersport 5 years ago but I'm getting on!!
