Well guys, finally after 5 months i have got my first 911 - I know the C4S gets slated on the forum but i feel the spec and price i got the car at was too good to refuse and using it as an everyday car adding 12-15k miles a year made it a good choice, the way the car looks also sealed it at the end.
Standard facelift C2 was my other option but with prices hovering at £30k made me think that they were not a good option just incase my finances change and i needed to sell. The TT although faster, more reliable and overall the better car as KayC has vocally mentioned was just out of my reach financially, all modesl at 39-42k felt thrashy to me and i couldnt justify to my wife in paying £42k for a car that probaby needed 3-4k worth of work done to it.
And for the GT3 guys out there,i needed the rear seats - GT3's for me are a great peice of kit closer to the rawness of an Exige but the rear seats are essential.
Here is the link from the classifieds, i will post my own pics once i get round to taking them - The Chap was from the Farnham area and knows a Tim that frequents the Pistonheads forum - GT3 driver i think??
Here it is - http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/199145.htm
Here is the spec -
Arctic Silver
Metropole Blue Sports Seats
Sports Exhaust
Sat Nav/Phone
Upgraded BOSE sound system
10months OPC Warranty
30k Miles
Short Shift
RMS(suprise suprise) & New Clutch done recently
Small Chrome Pack
Had the 48k miles service done 1k miles ago
First impressions - Holds the road close to an Elise's standards although a bit softer, not as fast as mates Gallardo but quick enough, interior build quaility close to my E-Class & SLK but where i think its a winner is that it does 90% of what these cars are best at so it defineatly fills the void and ticks all the right buttons. I kind of like the way that it feels like a solid fast 3 series to be honest.(Apologies to the purists for BMW statement
)
For the family guys out there - Mamas & Papas Pro-tec child seat fits easily, not tried the Quinny Zapp Push chair yet though and i have a feeling that it wont fit.
Insurance was £640 with Sainsburys bank (I am 31, full no-claims)
I averaged 28mpg on my way up from Surrey to Glasgow (How you southerners put up with the traffic betwwen Birmingham & Manchester is beyond me)
My other options were a CL55,XK8,(Exige & an X5), M3 CSL.
I can now understand the hype behind these cars - Brilliant peice of kit for the money. Thanks to all the guys input, Fidg,Kay C,Vesuv,Cableguy,Dazren and the rest. Hope to maybe meet up with some of you on a Porsche outing.

Congrats on a great looking car
If you fancy a drive out this Sunday, you are more than welcome to come along on our Yorkshire run out. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
The C4S is a great allrounder, plenty of power and grip from the 4WD and is still in my eyes one of the best looking Porsche's around.
Safe driving.

Thanks guys for all the positive comments - i have a few questions after racking up almost 1000 miles over the last 4 days!
1. Fuel tank was low/on the red and i put 25litres of Tescos 99 RON in but the fuel guage is still showing as empty?
2. When do you start behaving and stop breaking/shattering the speed limit.
3. When do you guys top-up the oil/Water? Oil guage hovers around full & two thirds full.
4. As a Lotus owner i would flash lights or wave at other Lotus drivers? Is this a No-No as a Porsche driver as my first two waves were met with a sign of non-aknowledgment
5. Is there a new release of Sat-Nav Disks? We have some new roads up North that dont seem to show up on the Sat-Nav? Its PCM2 and the car was first sold April 2003.
Finally i had my first unprovoked "your a w
r" incident from a female in a Toyota Prius? (Never had that in the Lotus)
P.S. Quinny Zapp Pushchair does fit into a C4S - Just.

1) TADTS thanks to the "saddlebag" design of the fuel tank on the C4 variants. If you "splash and dash" the fuel sender doesn't register it. You need to brim it to get the correct reading. Pain in the ass, but perfectly normal.
And congrats, I was beginning to think you'd never get one

1. Saddle bag as said above
2. Only when you realise that points dont make prizes
3. Check mine weekly cos i pamper the car
4. Some do wave back - honest
5. No idea
Should have said "thats only cos you are so ugly and that is a safer option than going near you"
Congrats on the car btw

I was driving along in my Boxster (which had German plates) one day when a passing cyclist shouted 'German w
r'. Maybe it was my driving but I think you get this on Porsches in particular. I would be a bit careful about where you park it as well.

And my friends Bentley also got keyed from one side of the car to the other.

In that part of town I would recommend the Glasshouse. It is normally manned and you can park near the kiosk.
Dr S, I so agree, sad people, and if you can stab them in the leg as you drive past so much the better!
