Speaker upgrade on 964

Any suggestions for replacement of the OE speakers?
They have to fit under the original covers as I don't want to be cutting up the door cards.
It's fair to say the ones fitted sound f*cking awful, even though I couldn't care less about expensive 'ICE'.
Cheers!
ETA:Though having said that, the culprit could be the ancient Sony CD player...

I have an '88 Cabio and have found that DLS do some very nice 5 1/4" speakers. The tweeters can be mounted in the standard tweeter mountings, the main speakers look virtually identical to the Porsche ones and the crossover fits in the door pocket.
Not sure about the rear speakers as I think the coupe needs 4x6 whereas the cabrio has 4" speakers on either side; I went for DLS in the back but not sure what the options are for 4x6.
