Boxter disks OPC?
Discussion
Workmate bought a Boxter off Silverstone a year ago, uses it the occasional weekend, however they pointedout to him that in conjunction with a change of pads at this years service, it would of course need new disks.
From memory its about Five years old, its at 35K, and it is a 2.7. How frequntly then do they need swapping out, and if OPC are to be trusted, how much wi££ it be,
Cheers guys

I think the problem is it's a "Cry Wolf" situation as OPC's seem to have a reputation for saying "discs are shot" so when they really are nobody listens.
I'd second the advise of try an indie - not least because the job will be cheaper.
Incidentally, what makes people think an independent won't see pound notes when someone turns up in a relatively new Boxster and says "do I need new discs"?!

Just remember a specialist does not always use genuine part, they use the old pin kit which will have a week or corroded spring plate, they don't replace squeal shims or sensors and more worrying they will reuse the caliper mounting bolts which are stretch bolts and once only used. and im sure a load of copper slip will be plastered all over the place

Just the excuse to do it yourself and save a fortune - plus the satisfaction of having the job done to your own standards
