Ive just spoken to the owner of www.black-falcon.com -Alex Boehm and he has spent yesterday at the Nordschielfe with Walter Rohl setting up the Black Falcon yellow 997 GT3 in conjunction with Bilstein

They both compared the standard car and the Bilstein set and he said it is just Incredible

He has driven a lot of Porsches around the Nurburgring and Ive been fortunate to have been driven around the ring by Alex and he is the quickest drivers at the ring

They also run a race team of BMW which recently won their class at the 24hr race both at Dubai and the Nurburgring
They also came runners up in the VLN in 2006

Im collecting my BMW race car from them this weekend and he has asked me to Inform the Porsche GT3 owners of this development with the GT3

It would be interesting to compare Black Falcon's efforts with those of the more established Porsche and BMW shops such as Manthey and Schirmer.

I agree but having dealt and spent a lot of money with other companies in Germany
Black-Falcon is a breath of fresh air !

Senario

I had an off at SPA 2 days before the Nurburgring 24 hour race on the 1st of a 2 day trackday with Autotrack at the begining of June ( I was in my BMW E36 M3 GT )
I bent a front track rod and put the GEO out

I spoke to Blabk-Falcon and asked whether I could get the car to them that night !
I trailered the car and arrived at 10pm - they spent 3 hours fixing the car so I would lose no track time the next day !

Tell me what other company would do that !

Service with a smile. Black Falcon is a young business, made up from experienced heads. Their quality is equal or better as they are smaller and customer service is high, the price has no added premium and they are a real friendly/knowledgable/approachable bunch. Highly reccommended!

It should interesting to see how the car behaves wit hthe bilstien. It was so easy to drive with the standard equipment.

I had a chat to Black Falcon. They told me it feels just as good on the road as before....but the roads in the eifel hardly give them good representation. The road surface is better than the track surface. I told them they need to come try the car in hertfordshire!!

Hi Sean

So they changed the standard dampers and springs for new Bilstein units? Or they reprogrammed the standard PASM units? confused

What improvement in lap time did they achieve?

Do Black Falcon plan to offer as an upgrade?

They change the whole unit, but I don't think you'll be able to use PASM with the new dampers.

They plan to start offering the whole pakcage including set up very soon

Are many 997 GT3 owners going to be willing to ditch the PASM? Seems like a lot to throw away, especially if rumours that Manthey etc are doing a setup which retains PASM are true.
