Chaps,
We only have 2 Porsche entries for Fighting Torque. After your recent willy waving in the TVR forums we were hoping you'd bring some of your finest german engineering along for us to thrash (hopefully smile )

August 12th, Raf Wattisham, we have exclusive use of the runway for only £89.

So far we have a 996 GT3 and a 997 GT3, but room for a few more.

http://www.fightingtorque.org for more details/ to sign up.

Hopefully see you there. - Cheers

Am I missing something here? You pull away from the start line and err.... change gear in a straight line until you reach the end and err... stop I suppose.

Not going to tax the old designer`s braincells too much there then in terms of handling and drive. A ride on mower with a big enough engine will do the job. Ho hum... smile

Anyway, have a good day.

As ever, keep smiling.

I'm afraid that typifies the attitude of most porker owners these days sleep

Too many nerd doing too much type and coffee and quite simply not enough musicdriving and friendly beer

Drag racing captures the golden era of the evolution of the 'The Petrolhead.

Not quite, we've already got another VMAX lined up for 19th August. We've had a few TVRs there before.

O/T. Mark, hope your car gets sorted quickly. The TVR boys will be in for a shock the first time they see it go. hehe

VMax and FT are two seperate tests of performance - VMAX favours big hp, FT is more power-weight. The highest hp cars will not necessarily be the fastest over the distance...........

Well I am going for a bit of fun. Not looking to be a hero, just looking to extend the motor a bit on the runway and enjoy the social. I am not a fan of dragging it either, prefer the twisties but it sounded like fun so thought i'd give it a blast. Also, its the home of the Appache helicopters so kind of hoped we might get a bit of a nose at them too biggrin

Longbow - any chance of getting some car stickers made up for the Porkers (assuming anyone bothers to stop washing it and turn up)?shoot

It's just that it is a bit like horse racing. Other than colours they all look the same!hehe

Hmmm, sounds pretty complicated to me. Much better in a gaytronic so you don't even have to change gear.

Aahh!! I wondered why 3/4 mile, scratchchin. Best possible distance for a TVR to win a race.hehe. Although I must say it would also favor the 911's to.biggrin
I would guess also that a TVR will not set the highest speed.

I would have thought if you want to win this race you just turn up on an R1 or a GSXR 1000 and piss all over everyone? The whole point about a 911(turbo)is the fact it is quick on the road because of its balance between useable power and grip.Lots of cars in a straight line will be quicker,(most bikes above 600cc will be quicker),most track biased cars on track will be quicker on track..but on the road i have yet to find any vehicle that can match the performance of a 911 turbo(including csl,gt3,gt2,evo6/p1/360/430 etc and all of the quick bikes ive owned. If anyone buys a 911 turbo for straightline performance or track work they bought the wrong car..all imho of course.
