Won't be long before my brake pads will need replacing.

Without spending a fortune on uprating pads and discs to turbo spec, are there any pads recommended for fast road and occasional track use?

Or should I stick with Porsche OE pads?

It really depends on your driving style and experience with existing OE pads on trackdays. Normal road use should not need anything better ( more abrasive) than the standard, just not enough speed to be killed. If you are also 'cracking' your discs then you may be using the brakes hard enough to consider uprated pads maybe with change of fluid to higher spec. These pads will also wear the discs faster...a vicious circle if you do a lot of track/ work the brakes hard. Its usual to get a bit of fade with standard brakes after 20 mins or so on a track that has high speed straights followed by slow corners which is why sessions usually allow about that amount of time..you let them cool for 20 mins or so and then ready for more. Oh, one other consideration, you can get lots of squueeeeal in stop- go traffic with Pagid Blacks or similar fitted

Thanks oldtimer. I hadn't considered the squealing thing. It would probably drive me mad given the amount of commuting I do, and the OE brakes are competent enough.

Sounds like PAGID Blues might do the trick.

I use them on my RS and brake squeal is minimal, plus they last longer than OE pads and are far more fade resistent. I seem to remember somewhere that alot of GT3 owners who experience fade on track also use blues.

For the record you can also get PAGID orange, yellow and black, each colour differs slightly. 9M's website describes each pad in detail. see www.9mracing.co.uk/html/modules.php?name=Shop&op=modload&file=index use the quicksearch for 'PAGID'.

BTW - These coloured pads cost about 2-3 times more than the OE pads.
