Hi All,

Slightly strange question, but if I book my car into an OPC for a service and they offer a courtesy car, whats it likley to be ?

Thanks !

I've had Saabs, an Audi, a BMW, a Mercedes S Class and a Cayenne V6. Depends what's handy.

If they think you might be changing car soon they might load you a demonstrator...but that's by no means guaranteed.

My local OPC now has a policy of supplying only Porsche vehicles as CC's

generally it is a boxster, cayman or cayenne

Most insurance companies include this feature at no charge though. (No big deal, yours is off the road at the time, so...)

I seem to remember being offered a diesel Passat once. Also had a couple of very low spec BMW 3-series from my OPC. Never, ever have been offered a Porsche of any kind, although I don't expect them to have a fleet of courtesy Boxsters, I would feel happier if I had, say, a 328 or 330 in place of my 996 especially if it's in for more than a day.

This varies considerably from one OPC to another as has been said. Best to ask them when you're booking the service as you may be able to reserve something befitting your status as a Porsche owner...

I always get a Cayenne from Reading OPC and have to insure it. No cost, just hassle.

If I were you I would ask them for a convertible to make sure you can get your head in.

Well, according to when I had mine in last at Porsche Hatfield, "something benefitting my status as a Porsche owner" was a poverty-spec Saab 9-3

I dont mind what I get as a loan car, as long as its not more than say 2-3 years old and is presentable and gets me from A-B still and I'm a happy chappy.

I've had a 997 c4s cab and a Cayenne - both only had about 2000 miles on the clock. Very nice they were too. Chester OPC only has Porsche courtesy cars.

My insurance says that you can drive any other car fully comp so I just took my cover note with me - the OPC was fine with it.

I don't ask for a loan car, just free parking for the day!

(Handy when your dealer is right next to your work smile )

Cambridge said their fleet will see you in a Boxter S or Cayenne V6 when I was in there chatting the other week.
