I mean this in a friendly tone BTW..!

Why get so hung up on a new model like the 997GT3RS or 997GT2? I know they're very good. but so are the 996GT3RS and 996GT2! why go to the lengths of bribes and loads of letters and deposits and paying a broker over the odds for something that will depreciate in the medium term. why not just take half the cash and go and buy a 996GT* and go and enjoy it in a weeks time rather than at least 6mths..

i know what it feels like to spec a car just how you want it and keep it for a while and i can see how this would be magnified by it being a ltd ed porsche.. but you know there's a limit surely..?!

I know what you mean. I dont think we would have bought our 997 RS if we had to wait another 6 months or so to have the exact spec we wanted.....

I guess it helps being in germany and having loads around to choose from smile

you're right. I can't understand why someone would by ANY car without a thorough test drive. IMO spending £80-120k without ever sitting in the car you're buying is mad. Also, what's all this with deposits? It's not as if it's an investment is it? Too many fall for the hype and the manufacturers love it by delaying deliveries to create that hype and the stampede to throw money away as if it's a life saver or something of eternal value.
