Anyone have any luck fitting three point rear seatbelts to an earlier model 911?

Mine has lap belts but I'd really like to update.

When, where, how and how much, information would be appreciated. Also any problems previously encountered.

Cheers

If you go to this site link below), click on reviews on the left hand side, then select running reports, click on the 17th car down (Phil Raby) there is an article called safe and sound where they talk about fitting rear 3 point belts. Dont know how much help it will be but is the one I remember reading. driving

Had this done years ago on a 77 Carrera 3 which is almost identical to an SC. Basically i had the captive nuts welded in and reinforced with plate steel on the metal bodywork that is under the rear parcel shelf. We used a 3.2 for reference. In my case the engine was out but would imagine a partial engine drop would give enough access to the bottom of the parcel shelf plus obviously the rear glass out.

I also heard that some late SC's actually had provision for a rear belt for those markets which required it at the time, not sure if it is true though. Can't tell you the cost as i had mine done when my car was restored. Also please buy brand new selt belts and bolts though not second hand from a breakers.

Hope this helps

cheers

Very much appreciated C2Look, thanks.

Just have to figure out if that 964 shelf will fit in the SC. Might pull out the rear shelf and see if there are existing holes also.

Once again, many thanks.
