Hey guys,

picked the car up, love it smile We tried installing the racing harnesses, but found that there was no point to secure the shoulder harness parts. Do we have to cut the carpet away to get to the points?

thanks!

Yes, use the horizontal bars in the cage behind the seats. Be sure to follow the instructions on threading the belts through their adjusters. It can be a little confusing the first time.

FWIW, Adam, it's quite unsafe to anchor shoulder harnesses in the floor or at a much lower level to the apertures in the seat back.
You can sometimes mount them in the rear bulkhead between the engine and the pax compartment, but you do need to take care that there is at most a modest angle to the harness at either side of the seat.
The belts should come with instructions about this - Schroth normally provide it in the package.

Does anyone know why Porsche made the harness fixing points further back on the 997 cage, compared to the 996? Seems a strange move, assuming you would normally want a short distance between seat and harness point.

Just looking at the pics above, and i cant work out how the harness is connected to the rollcage, ours have points where you bolt them into the car....

thanks guys!
