Guys, I hope someone can help me out here. I got a very unfortunate puncture on my Porsche Cayman S at the weekend and now can't find anyone with stock of Michelin Pilot Sports in the London area. I've been told by a few people there is a nationwide shortage of MPS and I might have to wait 2 weeks for my tyres! So if anyone happens to know of a garage with stock of 235/35 19 MPS please let me know - I can't drive the car (I had to get a flatbed back to London from Norwich at 11pm on Saturday night!) so either a reasonably priced mobile fitting service or I guess I could chance a 5 mile drive from my house in SE1 on a kn@ckered tyre....

I recommended them to you lightweight before you went off to the 'ring, I think wavey

Marcus is a good chap and I believe they supply quite a few of the independents and OPCs, I think. no affiliation.

Have a chat with him about his chopper!

appreciate all the help guys! Much ringing round has resulted in the same results....the dilemma being anyone who has stock is too far away to drive to (the curse of daring to live south of the river!)- which means I have to pay the mobile fitting charge, at which point it is actually the same price to buy four Pirelli's from my local Kwik Fit with their 25% off promotion. So looks like a no-brainer to go the four new tyre route, despite the rears only being replaced recently. My only reservation being I had Pirelli's on the my old 993 and was much happier with the Conti's I ended up swapping to....

www.event-tyres.co.uk sourced a replacement 265/35 ZR19 for a Cayman S for me, tout de suite.

Give them a go.

Bring the part worns home, store them and stick 'em back on with 2 new ones you like next time round, I did that with MPS and PZeros on my C4 smile

How much is Kwik Fit going to cost you?

I saved about £200 on 2 tyres by going to Bracknell Tyres. You could get a return cab ride to Bracknell with your two wheels for that!

Just a thought!

Is the tyre goosed or can it be repaired temporarily?

If it is repairable, I'd say repair it then put an order in and wait for the MPS tyres as they are arguably a better allround tyre than their Pirelli equivalent and worth the wait.

...I REALLY HATE Pirelli PZ Rossos on my 996 C4. They totally screw up the handling and have far too much side-wall flex.

You were a life saver on that trip when you said he had a chopper I thought you ment the 2 wheel type not the swooping low over the canopy helicopter gunship type ;-)
