Don't shoot me for suggesting, but is it time to divide the Porsche forum up into models (i.e. 911/Boxster/etc)

Just a thought, but it's getting really busy now and it's getting hard to track the forum posts that you want to, especially if you're away from the computer for a day! (Page 3!)

Most other makes on the forum have done this (TVR, etc) - Ha.....that's going to cause arguements!

There used to be a separate Boxster forum , IIRC not many posts caused it to be combined with the main Porsche one.

Seems a good idea now though.
How about
Newer models 996/997/Boxster etc
911 air cooled
Old front engined 924/944/968/928

I agree with Martin with 2 additions:
- General
- Turbo
- 996/997/Boxster/CGT +
- Air Cooled 911
- Front Engined (924/944/968/928 etc)

No offense, but this big combined general forum is so full of junk that I can't keep up either rolleyes

Yes one forum for GT3's and then another section for all the boring ones. Excellent idea.....hehe

Didn't there used to be a dedicated Gt3 forum, before they all went off to buy BMW's? smile

It's been tried before on PH, didn't seem to work so it reverted back to current configuration...I doubt they will try the experiment again?

IMO the split should be:

1. 911 Pre 996
2. 911 Post 996
3. Boxster
4. Others (i.e. Cayman, Cayenne, etc)

Thoughts??? driving

Surely some of the best ( longest) threads have been across all models. By splitting us up there would no longer be the cross threading of banter ( oil v water cooled, front v rear engine etc....) that's where all the fun is!!

I don't see enough non-911 threads to see dividing the forum to be worthwhile.

The Boxster and Other forums wouldn't get enough traffic to work. There was a Boxster forum and it was merged back into the general Porsche forum due to lack of posts. I can't see why it would work now when it failed before.

As mentioned it has been tried before with a Boxster section which didn't take off. If people have queries specific to a certain model, providing they specify the model at the beginning of the title, people with knowledge of the model will normally take a look.

How about Tiptronic lovers in one forum and the rest of us in another.
