The motor needs its first top up since I've had it today. Any one got any suggestion / reccomendations on what brand or viscosity? The manual suggests the following:
Multigrade:
SAE 20 W-40
SAE 20 W-50
SAE 15 W-40
Superlubrifiante:
SAE 5 W-40
SAE 5 W-50
The manual is in French so I assume superlubrifiante means synthetic? The guy who had it before me used to use Shell Helix.

Castrol have a new product on the market, which beats the RS hands down. It's the Castrol TSW 10W60 and was developed for high performance engines, like the M3 and the M5. I used it in my convertible and was very happy. I think the only "drawback" is that you can only buy it from BMW for the time being and that it is expensive...
Scotster I spotted this on another forum-

I have been trying to buy Castrol RS 10/60 for weeks but no one seems to stock it or is even able to order it.
So I called Castrol directly, they gave me the number for Castrol Classics (01954) 231668 they take your order over the phone and post it to you free of charge............
if ya get stuck try Castrol Classics (01954) 231668 they take your order over the phone and post it to you free of charge............
