996 X50 - fastest point to point car on the planet
Discussion
In the latest autocar they do a point to point test down some 20 miles plus of welsh B roads, and in a nutshell, the 996TT X50 kicks total ass, only slightly troubled by the new Noble.
After Dazren (warp speed Mr Sulu!) redefining my idea of speed, I find this very easy to believe..
Quite a good read of you've not seen it!

At a guess ON A UK CAR I'd say standard features would be leather seats, sunroof, aircon, radio cassette stereo, standard seats with electrical adjustment.
The following would be cost options:
Tiptronic gearbox
Sports or Bucket Seats
CD,Minidisc or PCM headunit.
CD shuttle in boot.
Heated front seats
Lumbar adjustment.
Cruise Control.
Coloured seatbelts.
On top of that you then move onto various cosmetic items such as alloy or carbon fibre hand brake, gearshift various other panels scuff plates, various interior paint colour coding etc. Porsche crests on wheel centres or seat headrests.
If you are looking at a specific car tell us what it's got on it or put a few interior piccies up and we can take a guess of what were cost options. Alternatively with a chassis number Porsche GB may give you details of the what options were ordered on the vehicle.
You may like to look at www.Porsche.com, go to their UK site and then use the car configurator to realise how many options there are currently available before you move onto the exclusive bespoke stuff!!

Steve, that's a difficult one as the list is pretty long & the options list even longer.... these are the main one's 4wd/PSM..stability control/sports chassis/18" wheels/full leather/electric seat's, plus memory on drivers side/sunroof/climate control,aircon/sound pack...I don't Bose was available in yr 00/sports seats are a no cost option but had to be specified/I also think autodim mirror & rain sensors were standard. As for options well the sky's the limit, with leather, alloy, & various electrical goodies available, but I am told that for maximum re-sale PCM (Sat Nav) is important although Daz was happy to buy without!!

Er not happy, more insistant, so as to provide space for the tidy installation of control panels of various traffic & accident blackspot location weaponary. It also allowed me to have a minidsic headunit as in my other car. Neither of these two important issues could have been provided for by specifying the PCM option.

Guys,
Well, it's a bit of a long story. I agreed a price of £57,500 on the following 996 TT 12,000 miles, OPC checked - LHD
all kit including Cruise, phone, Sat Nav. Heated memory seats, Sunroof, etc

Seemed like a good deal the car looked and drove great, I was due to pick the car up this weekend. The guy Mr Sito from Sito & Sito just phoned me to say he's just sold the car to someone else but can get me an exact replica for £55K by the weekend if I wanted it. But, given the dodgy way this guy does business I doubt I will take him up on his offer but if he can supply a car to the same spec for £2.5K less then I might be tempted to swallow my pride and deal with him.
Anyone had any dealings with him?
Steve

Walk the fcuk away!!

I can see the arguement for not having signed anything so he wasn't obliged to see the car to you - but agreed on a price = sold IMO. I would tell him in no uncertain terms that you are displeased with his customer loyalty/treatment and go somewhere else.
£57,000 is a lot of money to give to as asshole...!
Steve,
be careful!, now that the fcuker has you smitten, he may well try and offload a lemon that he hasn't even seen, never mind, fully inspected...
Just walk away a smile another day mate...
i did twice and finally bought the 'right one' (gorgeous 993) now everytime i open the garage door, i smile again..., and the the first dealer i approached his showroom is now a restaurant...!
regards
