Who's Coming back from the Ring - In one piece?
Discussion
There was indeed a fair bit of Porsche carnage today, sitting enjoying my dinner in the Pistenklause I'm glad I bought my 335d as it was perfect for the cold and slippy conditions, 8 Porsche scalps in three laps.

Paul GT3 is having a full engine rebuild, but to be honest the little Beemer was the ideal tool for the job. Only car to get past was an N24 Aston on wets.
Makes sense, easier run down as well...have fun on track, keep the scalp count up

There seem's to be a fair few porsche / armco incidents at any time on the 'Ring, but I do think this is down to more driver capability and certain 'I drive a porsche, so I can keep with him' attitudes.
When I was last out there you could see some people getting the red mist at been passed by 'inferior' cars and trying too hard to keep up, the result was a nice TVR into the barriers!
Must admit, wouldn't like to be out there in the wet unless I'd been there a few times in the dry.

So glad i decided not to go......
You could almost guarantee that the weather would not be favourable this time of year...
And even though i'm a big tart in the wet, i'm not sure if i could stand in the car
park for a day (or maybe 2 ?) without testing the grip levels at least once, which as you all know, is
where things go wrong out there...
Be safe guys.

well for what it is worth i have been quite a few times at the ring but never seen it so slippery. Granted cup tyres and lots of camber are not ideal for 6 degrees c and standing water but even after 3 laps could not get any heat into the tyres. Car never felt so much on ice. brakes locking up everywhere, goes from understeer to oversteer everywhere. Not fun. Graham told me 9 cars crashed today of which 3 of them on the first lap...After a few hours we decided to go go karting which at least was fun. The guys that stayed home were probably right this time.

Ah, the famous Manthey 3.9 owner
Off topic, but would love a run down on your car if you get time please

Was indeed extremely slippery yesterday, partially assisted by the red 964rs crashing at metzgefeld then trailing oil, on the line, back to the car park. Keeps you focussed! Thanks bud!
Unfortunately others may not agree...
This morning see's a light dusting of snow - handy now the oil from above is no longer quite as effective as it was yesterday morning!
Alles gut!
