Upgrading your Boxster
Discussion
Hi there,
We've got a 2.7 W reg Boxster which is due for MOT next month.
We're looking to buy a newer one, but looking at the prices of the Boxster S at the moment, there seem to be quite a few - dare I say it - cheap ones out there. Saw a 3 year old S for £31,995 with a few toys and the all important leather and climate control complete with FPSH.
So, my question is, do we buy a newer 2.7 or a 3.2S which is the same age as our current car??
Is the Boxster S that much better (have to say that I do miss 6 forward gears).

Go for the "S" it's a great car & a useful step up from the 2.7...you get the 3.2= lot more grunt/6 speed box/upgraded 911 brakes/uprated handling/extra roof lining/better induction sound/standard 17" alloys aircon..centre cons..white dials..alloy bits etc etc....GO ON YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE.
There is always the possibility of considering a 996 C2 Cab. There are some of those about - which will be the age of your current car but with higher mileage probably that offer a large power upgrade, soft-top and a bunch of toys as standard....
Me: I'd still get a BoxS - but the 996 has been tempting me of late. Worth a look? Of course, the budget could be too large for what you want to spend...

I would be stunned if they can get Boxster S for that money now,,,they were possibly available last year from Europe, but the Euro is approximately 20% stronger VS the pound than it was then...Not to mention the few extras you might choose to add..
Please prove me wrong and get yourself a great car into the bargain.
