I understood the 997 was due out in base Carrera form from Autumn 2004,the other derivatives will follow on the usual pattern,,1.e. 6mth-1yr for a cab,18mths 2 years for the Turbo.
You raise a good point and when I recently sold my 1 year old 996,the depreciation over it's second year due to the imminent 997 was certainly a consideration.

Robert I agree with Clubsport, all the reports I have read indicated 2005 model year, which means deliveries from Sept 04, although nothing is 100%. But I don't think they will field a C4s model from the start, so this should help your residuals, although with a likely power increase & further upgrades it may be tempting to wait 6 months for the new model ????

Just coming back on the next generation 4S model,,,I heard that this may have a 3.8 engine with 340-360 bhp, above the standard carrera's still fitted with a 3.6 lump...This would help the 4S as it loses out in power to weight vs narrow bodied cars and gives more incentive for those not going all the way for a TT.
