Hi all, my lovely 1972 2.4S Coupe is no more. It was hit by a bus (bus driver took all responsibility, and no-one was hurt, thank god) but the car is an insurance write-off. I now have the chance to buy the wreck and as all the important bits still seem to work fine, I'm tempted to stick them in a california 914. Has anyone done this, or does any one have any thoughts re the viability of such a project?

Sad day, but glad nobody was hurt.

That's a real shame. A 2.4S, restored or otherwise is always going to be worth more than a 914 with a 2.4S engine in it. Before going down that road I'd have a look at trying to get the original 2.4S body straightened out.

Glad you're alright.

Whata shame, though. The bits might make a nice special. No doubt many people with a 911T would like an S engine....

Hi Matt

Is that the eggplant purple 911S ? if so that's a shame. I had 5 great days in that car, only 911 I've ever driven but left an impression on me.
