Has anyone changed their rear pads.

Mine are worn, and I find it hard getting time to take it to the dealer in the week. Was wondering how easy or difficult is it to change the pads myself??

My friend changes the pads on his NSX. and has no problems.

Not a difficult job,,looked at your profile,,couldn't guess the car,so can't offer model specific advice.
I often remove pads on Porsche models to clean discs & caliper, just remember to put things back the right way round.Digital camera photos may help as you go.

I changed the front pads on my 993RS this afternoon, doesn't take too long. Not sure of your car, but on my RS it is:
1. wheel off
2. remove weak sensor plug from the car, unclip the two clips that guide the wire along the brake pipe
3. grip the big metal spring (that holds the pads in) with pliers so it comes off
4. with some big pliers, ease the pads apart (I have big red calipers - make sure you cover them with a cloth so you don't damage them)
5. remove pads
6. insert anti squeal shims into the pistons (having removed the paper coverings) before you insert the pads
7. insert pads into the calliper, having attached the wear sensors
8. repeat 1-4 in reverse. For step 4, it helps if you have some self locking pliers
If you want more info, drop me a line. The above was exactly the same for my 964 C2.
