I've just fitted one straight into the existing Radio/CD DIN slot - it works a treat except that the alarm gives a one time beep when setting it with the key fob.

Any advice how I stop this? ('01 pre-MOST 996 TT).

Thx

It's something to do with a connection at the back of the unit. I only know from reading it on here! Do a search you should find it. The fix is very simple, just some pvc tape over a small section of the rear of the HU in the possition of the switch. Sory i can't give you more detail.

Could you put a picture up i may do the change myself.

Chris,

it was a very easy install and looks exactly the same as the OE single DIN slot OE Radio/CD unit.

The only fiddly bit was routing the wire from the GPS antenna which I mounted at the top of the dash/windscreen to connect to the back of the unit. Also I had to jumper between 2 connectors at the back to provide sound to the existng speakers set up - almost 'plug and play' ,except for the horn 'beeping' when I set the alarm.

Hello

Remove the radio unit again and on the left hand side there is a metal tag that touches the side of the radio unit just unplug the fly lead to it and it will be fixed. not sure why they have that stupid monitoring wire there anyway as the alarm would have gone off ages before you get to the radio..

Mike - thx.

I've just found the wire and disconnected it - it's all working now without the 'beeps'
