Where to get my calipers painted red?
Discussion
Colin,
Thanks for reply. Can you advise please the MAXIMUM time to turn these round from when you get them.
I am away in about 3 weeks for a 10 day business trip. I would have my work's mechanic remove the calipers the day I leave and depending on your response, get him to refit them ready for my return.
Regarding me "cheating" by painting them red, I do not understand the comment!! I have a fixed rear spoiler on my C4, yet I do not believe that, because the TT also has this, that I am cheating with that.
I also happen to like red calipers having had them on previous cars (Lancer EVO 5 for example). Did not realise that Porsche had the patent on Red calipers!!

I suppose it is because big reds were a larger and more expensive caliper - like an M3 is a larger(bhp wise) and more expensive 316i... and we ridicule people who put M3 badges on 316 boot lids
I don't think it really matters Dave, in all honesty. Scottster painted up his 968CS AP big brakes in yellow to match his car - and big yellows are even posier than big reds.
At least you are getting Colin to do the job properly - Halfords sell caliper paint for the boy racer crew to have red-calipered Corsas. I saw yellow painted DRUMS on a civic the other day, and nearly had a hernia laughing
