This is my plan, obviously open now to huge abuse

Current car looks like this:

Intend to add these jolly wheels:

19" black formula - Techart

Combined with the little kit from Porsche

....combined with some racing chairs:

ok.....personally I prefer the looks of the car as standard. My neighbour has those techart wheels and they look.......fabulous, very prone to kerbing though.

Dont know how much track work you're planning to do but I'd leave the seats alone.

I've got used to "easy-kerb" wheels with the 18" Cerby spiders What colour car / wheels does he have?

Just my personal here...

I think the black wheels would look pretty sexy on the black shell.

I prefer the understated 'normal' aerokit - in fact if it had been an option I would have specified it.

Buy racing chairs, harnesses & roll bar if you are going to track it - essential I would have thought if you intend to thrash it... but otherwise, why would you buy those things?

The wheels will look good, however if Porsche thought the car would handle better, wouldn't they have put 19inchers on to start with? Perhaps looking for a harder suspension set up may toughen up the handling if that is what you are looking for. Try driving on the larger wheels before buying.

The spoiler kit looks fantastic but be careful with the front section scraping when entering badly cambered roads. Oh and additional downforce means you will drop one or 2mph to non aerokitted 996tt X50 at Bruntingthorpe!! This is an irrelvance in all situations other than in the pub.

With the seats if you are doing 15/20 trackdays a year go ahead. You will however lose proper access to the rear child seats. I have read reports of larger people taking longer to get in and out of the bucket seat equipped cars to the stage that after a while they revert back to non-bucket seats as it is their everyday car rather than dedicated TrackToy.

All very valid - has made me seriously think abt the seats. A waste of pennies I fear.

Trying to find some reports of the 19" wheels -

Also worried about being slower than DAZ in a straight line The twisty stuff I have no chance as he quite obviously uses the Force......

he does indeed!

The wheels are black and on a black 996 convertible. Which happens to have a lovely techart diffuser on the back also.

Lucky sod also has a 360, and a bentley & a range rover, grrr

I hate him already!

I would not venture near black alloys unless they were intended for a black car. I've always disliked anything other than the "traditional" colour -

Just thought that fitted on the black TT they would look amazing - just had the price - damn scary:

£2000 + vat for wheels, £1000 inc vat for tyres

Watch it Craig, we don't tolerate commie sandalista greeneyed missives in this forum.

Craig, Yes Thurs 11th.

Back on topic... IMHO - wheels, yes but check ride comfort... aerokit - yes, def looks better ... seats, I'd stick with the standard Porsche sports seats.

buster, my friend. Don't do it.

The wheels look great but the aerokit - a bit much don't you think? Considering your car looks so stunning already.

The seats - do you have the sports seats in yours? They're what I have in mine (BoxS you saw) and are fine on track days...the fixed bucket seats, as mentioned before, mean the rear area becomes (bloody difficult)luggage only for a benefit only on a few days a year on track...

As to the wheels - well - I have 18s on mine and although they are fine I can't imagine wanting anything even more prone to tramlining and a hard ride. Definitely try before you buy and make your own mind.

Sorry Buster,
I like the TT as factory standard, all these add on's do make it look rather boy racer maxpower-ish pimp mobile, rather than a classy classic, just my opinion of course, you did ask don't hit me !!!

Wheels , I think the black Techarts will look fantastic with the black shell of the car.

Aerokit, not my cup of tea, I like the rear spoiler as it is, the front however I am not so keen on when left standard.

If I were you I'd probably go for the Techart wheels, a Techart Frontspoiler II (Art.-Nr.: 096.100.182.009)

and possibly the side skirts but I'm undecided about them.

It'd beef up the agressiveness of the front which I think it needs yet not loose those valuable mph in straight line speed which you would with the aerokit spoiler.

The seats I would leave, they aren't really worth it unless you're seriously tracking it and they do make getting to the rear seats an arse.

Hello Buster.
I have to agree with DAZ on this one. I can’t see you improving the styling, but merely customising it to your present tastes.
Think of the track day tool you’d purchase with that kind of cash.

Aerokit looks cool.
Of course i would say that, but it will get scuffed at the front.
