I have just bought a 1996 993 C4, and want to bring it up to the best condition possible. In typical fashion, some scuffing to the side bolsters exists, so I need some repairs. Can anybody recommend a good car upholstery repair place in London/Middlesex.
Has anybody actually had this done, and how successful was it in terms of matching the colour etc.

All advice greatfully accepted.

These are the ones I'd trust. Not quite in the location you need, but they specialise in pork and have a good reputation.

Southbound Motor Trimmers. Address: Little Dean

I'd be interested to hear how you get on, as my car also has scuff marks on the drivers seat.

Southbound use original Porsche leather, so can match it exactly. They redid some of UV's car if I remember, and have done a few bits on mine for a previous owner. Pricing is very reasonable for the crfatsmanship and quality.

If it is just scuffs then can I suggest the DIY route. It is easy (even for an incompetent like me)
using the stuff from www.leathermotive.com

Southbound are excellent, although expect to wait for an appointment.

Top drawer company.

I needed some Porsche carpet in light grey to repair the interior of my car - phoned them up, they asked me to send a fiver to cover postage and mailed me back enough carpet to do the job with some to spare - very helpful.

They do have a waiting list for major work though I believe.

Vincent, we have all used the leather restorer people who are associated with dentwizard/chips away, They are very good. They did the seats on your car about 3/4 years ago and they looked like new.

Hope you are enjoying it, its a really nice example.

Many thanks for the feedback and advice. I will keep you posted on results.
It's going in for a mop next week, so should be gleaming on the outside come next week.

I spoke with Southbound, and you are right about the level of knowledge. They know their stuff.

A number of options are available,
1. Give them the car-- Wait until March '04 for this.
2. Get then to supply complete seat cover and get a trimmer to fit, approx 6 weeks
3. Find a good trimmer, and they can supply the hide.

Trying to decide between 2 and 3 right now, so just comes down to cost, will let you know results.

Vincent I think if you get in touch with these guys

www.chipsaway.co.uk/trimfix.htm

or

www.dentwiz.com/uk/en/fc/flyingcolours.html

one of them brought the bolsters on your exact car and also a 993 Turbo back to pretty much as new condition. I seem to remember it was about 100 maybe 150 per seat.

I would imagine a lot cheaper than completely re trimming them.
