Stupid question! Why are cabriolets...
Discussion
I would assume that the cabs and targas depreciate at a greater rate than the coupe because older Porsches are more often bought by enthusiasts rather than posers (the coupe being more structarly rigid is probably percieved as more of a drivers car).
Also the convertible roof is one more thing to go wrong on an older car, might put people off ?

In addition to the comments made the Coupes are more refined. The 993/964 cabs are(in my opinion) just plain butt ugly and you also have to put up with the leaks, extra noise, higher insurance, greater risk of some muppitt with a Stanley Knife, etc, etc. The 964 Targa also suffers the same fate. I personally reserve judgement on the 933 Targa, as it likely to be my next Porsche if I get rid of my 964 coupe - but that may because I getting soft in my old age
Try them and see for yourself, but I'm sure you will find a Coupe (with a sun roof) a better all round drive and less trouble in the long run.
Hope this helps.
