Any of you guys in the know tell me what kind of money I should be parting with for a 98-9 996 Average miles?
I'd really like one with the GT3 kit on...does this have much of a bearing on the value.

budget on 35k....if you buy from private seller it will work out up to 5k less than buying from a dealer...GT3 kit should not add much maybe 1k if you really have to..doesn't make car go any faster.

In fact it may knock a k off the value and make the car go slower...

now now domster , each to his own
BTW my budget 35k plus advice that private sellers 5k cheaper than dealers means price 35-40k depending on source, not 30-35k still a great car for the money

at the time i looked around, they seemed to be in short supply from dealers.

I called around everywhere, and only found 1 left..

well, i lie, found 2, but one was a 2001 Y for only £35k...

when i aksed WHY.. it turns out it was a LHD--> RHD conversion, sans history..

still, took it for a drive, was nice, apart from when i put the indicators on... the steering column moved!!

Still, I am getting ready to sell my 996 with Aero Kit... so I hope they are STILL in short supply

Really does make the stock 911 looks gorgeous IMHO..

(not that it doesnt look nice without... just not quite as nice pre=facelift)

feel free to mail me thru my profile for more info.

So Mk1 GT3 RHD & LHD prices are same as 993RS!

Nah, you can get a LHD 993RS a tad cheaper. I'd say 35k entry.

I'm sure Mr Garth does. That doesn't mean you can't get a LHD 993RS for 35k. I have been offered one for 30k before now, but that was 18 months ago when prices were less. I'm not saying a 35k LHD 993RS will be a fine example, just that you should be able to get one for that money. (mobile.de would probably be the first port of call, but there were some reasonably priced ones in Porsche Post a few months back, IIRC).

Cheers for name check re 964RS. I had to jump in, too

Cheapest 993RS on mobile.de is 38k so I'll agree to meet half way on that one

Saw an early 996 at auction, high mileage with tip, go fr £28K.

If you go the aerokit route, you MUST lower the suspension, or, IMHO, it looks crap......

And have the 18" turbo or GT3 alloys..

Also consider spacers to 'mean out' the arches...

but dont lower over 15mm imho, else you will have more chin stubble than WHAM!
