968 CS front tyres

I was unlucky enough to badly kerb my left front on Saturday and take a chunk out of the tyre wall down to the canvass. So now I have to shell out for two new fronts plus fitting, balancing and a geometry check (and that’s assuming the rim is OK).

Just been quoted 300 EUR + 21% VAT per tyre by my local OPC for 225/45ZR/17 P-Zeros plus 50 EUR + VAT fitting and balancing Didn’t get as far as asking about the geometry check. This seems much more expensive than the UK. Don’t suppose anyone knows a good discount tyre centre in Brussels?

The other option I guess is to get the tyres shipped over from Mitcheldever or someone and then get the OPC to fit them. I think the shipping cost would be more than the savings on the tyre though.

Anyways I've been quoted 133 GBP inc VAT per tyre by blackcircles.com as opposed to 363 EUR inc VAT by Porsche Gent. So I'm thinking of getting blackcircles.com to ship to my folks in the UK and then getting them shipped to Brussels. Does anyone know if I'll get hit for duty when shipping within the EU?

Top link chaps. 2 x P-zero 225/45ZR/17 for 360 EUR all in. That's half the price of Porsche Gent and less than blackcirles.com!

Now sorry to be a pain but next qestion: I have P-zero Direzionale's on the front but there's also Asimmetrico's for not much more. I assume the aforementioned are uni-directional and the latter bi-directional. Any comments on which are better? Also there seems to be red and black versions. Anyone know the difference? I take it's not the colour of the rubber

OK got part of it sorted from the Pirelli site now:

Direzionale - front only
Rosso Direzionale - front only
Asimmetrico - rear (with Direzionale's) or all round
Rosso Asimmetrico - rear (with Direzionale's) or all round
Nero - all round

Nero seems to be aimed more at post factory modified cars. Sill not sure on the difference between Rosso's and straight P-Zeros but at least I know to stick to Direzionale's for the front.
