993 C2S Engine Lid / Rear Spoiler

I have just bought a C2S, which has a Turbo rear spoiler fitted. I know some people prefer the Turbo look but I want the original C2S rear end. Does anyone know what I need to change, where best to source the parts and how much it will likely cost me?

I'm wondering if I can get away with just changing the spoiler rather than the whole engine lid?

Any idea what I would get for the Turbo spoiler I'm getting rid of?

Have a look on p-car.com as a basic guide. You will need the full standard spoiler with mechanism. Your spoiler warning light will also have been deactivated. Have a look on ebay or breakers for the parts. I'm guessing you could be spending well over £1K if you try and buy all the parts new. Plus spraying the spoiler to bodycolour.

As per the previous poster you may well find someone that will do a straight swap of the complete engine cover.

There is a spolier controller/ECu type thing under the driver's seat too, make sure it's still there.

I've just had a closer look under the boot lid (probably should have done that before posting) and like you say I definately need the complete lid.

Goose, looks like it used to have the standard lid, as the silver box unit is under the front seat - presume that is the control unit you are talking about?

Am I right in thinking that any 993 boot lid will fit, even from a Targa? I know the spoiler is slightly different on the C2S but I think I prefer the standard 993 spoiler in any case.

I've found a complete standard 993 lid (£400 plus re-spray). Does anyone know how much I should ask for the Turbo lid? (its a genuine OE Porsche item and in perfect condition)

I've been told they are £4500 new from Porsche and I should get around about £1000 second hand, that sounds a hell of a lot to me, what do you think?

Remember to get the twin grille colour coded lid that differentiates the 2S from the others. IIRC they are around £100 unpainted and should slot straight in to a standard lid.

I'm have exactly the same situation; have a 993 S with the turbo wing that I wan to take back to the original 2S engine lid.
Where did you manage to find yours please and how much did you end up getting for your Turbo wing?
