Just swanned into town and parked up on the street outside the pub for a pint. A 355 pulled up two cars away. It seemed that every little group of lads or girls had to have their picture taken next to the .... .... .... 355. Walked straight past the GT2. Very interesting I thought.

This is why you can charge about in the GT2 incognito, park it where you like and not get raged/abused/chips thrown at you.

Ok so I'm a bit sore, lol.

Buy a GT2 in yellow, with yellow cage and bits and you'd be amazed at the difference in peoples perception....

smile I guess so.

But I like the incognito thing really. I wonder what people thought if they were watching me snapping all the angles on my phone like some teenage dreamer, then roaring off in the better car.

Noticed trade plates in the footwell so I guess it was a stock car.

Hi Andy, sometimes it is nice to be anonymous. If you want real attention go buy a Lamborghini Countach or a Diablo.

I got given the use of an F430 while my turbo was being repaired and I was stunned by the constant attention. I also was constantly terrified about leaving it anywhere due to the attentions of all and sundry especially in SE London where I live.
Personally I think true petrolheads will be much more interested in a GT2 than a 355. The average punter wouldn't know the difference between a GT2 and a bog standard C2 apart from the obvious bodykit. When I got my turbo from my previous C2 most of my clueless mates said 'It's exactly the same as your old car isn't it?'

The stealth factor of a GT2 is something I'd quite like.

For me the fear of leaving or parking a Ferrari is purely to do with the cost / availability of parts to repair and the general hassle of having your pants pulled down.

We think we've got problems from time to time but they really are nothing compared to owners of the other prancing horse! Try caningthe balls off that 355 for the weekend and see what happens. Obviously Porsche's relative reliability makes them a more common sight on the road.

Ferrari ownership definitely has it's appeal but I've never truely relaxed in one, certainly not to the extent of a Porsche which is like meeting an old friend every time you hop in smile

If you want more attention possibly you should consider getting a few tatts to impress the locals wink

Keep smiling

355 is a timeless design, aka 993 Turbo. Stunning looks.. Of course it'll attract more attention that a '996' , GT2 or not!

My Asbo Orange Focus got more attention than the GT2, then I put viper stripes on.

Seems to have done the trick.

Kind regards

I think the main problem with a GT2 is its very similar to every other 911 out there, which there are heaps of.. A 355 is different, plus its a Ferarri! So guess thats the attraction

Depends what your after I guess, a GT2 would be brilliant for going un noticed!

Hey someone noticed me yesterday on the A11. Police biker sneaking about in a layby pulled out into the traffic and engaged stealth mode for half a dozen miles presumbably waiting for me to break a law.

Sadly he was wasting his (our) petrol and eventually turned off...

Talk about prejudice.

Interesting one this, attended a classic car show yesterday and ended up parked next to a Lambo Gallardo spider in Gulf Blue (looked the dogs danglies to me)
There were more people of all ages commenting on mine and saying the Lambo had no class, i disagree if i'm honest.
A 355 is in yer face though (i have a small willy sindrome)

Had 2 355's, both berlinettas both f1. 1 red with crema trim, 1 black with red trim. Both great cars with lots of prescence, I sold my last 355 when I started to get more into track days and tbh as a track car a 355 aint much cop so I now run a gt3.
I do miss the fezza as it had 'something' the porsche just doesn't have

This one was a berlinetta -- what does that mean? What's the spec (just to save me looking it up!)?

Since I can't afford a 430 to buy or more importantly to run, the 355 is to me a possible next car for me. 360s are horrible looking things IMHO, though I don't know much about their performance...

F355 is effing fast and the 360 doesn't feel much faster because it's that much better built, easier to drive etc.

You'll be shocked by how uncomunicative the steering is on a 355 - absolutely woeful - but they are a bit more "special" than most 911s and sound lovely.

Not sure which one you drove but 355's dont feel very fast at all now. I think my Cayman S is probably similar (or slightly better) performance.

Comming from a GT2 a 355 will feel about as quick as a 2CV!
