Since it was a nice day on sunday, decided to go out for a blast. For no reason in particular headed for Inverness (from Aberdeen) didnt waste to much time in inverness ,to nice a day for that.Coming home though i encountered what can only be described as a d**khead in a Subaru just north of Nairn. The A96 at that time was more or less bumper to bumper but the risks this guy took just to get past me were unbeleivable. I used to have a subaru but never felt the need to try to kill myself whenever there was a Porsche in front of me.However this loony made my day about 15 minutes later as we came towards Forres (saw the blue lights in the distance and hoped) and said idiot was in the back of of a police car. Was i glad i just let him get on with it. Anyone else had similar probs and how do you deal with em?

Wait for a clear stretch, ease off, pull to left as best I can, and if they really don't get it, indicate. Then live to drive another day.

He really wants a 911 but has to make do with a chav mobile thus driving like a tt, leave em to it nothing to prove at the end of the day.

Regardless of car, slower or faster, just pull in/over/slow down, and let 'em pass. Life's too short for anything else - they may well learn from it too...

You are all absolutely right ie just let em past so they can be first to the scene of the accident. Sorely tempted to toot the horn as i went past

I have a Subaru. Why are you adding to the needless animosity between marques with statements like that? rolleyes

I agree..maybe the geezer in the Scooby just wanted some fun and to be fair there are lot of very slow moving 'Poser-Porsches' driving about.

You're better than that; rise above it and seek solace in the fact that a) you're not a tw@t and b) he wants to be you.

Based on subsequent comments I must qualify my statement by saying that it applies to driving behaviour irrespective of marque. I would hate to think that all BMW drivers are labelled t0ssers especially when I have one!

Must have been VERY satisfying to see aforementioned 'gent' in the back of the plod car ...

If his driving was very bad I might almost have been tempted to stop and have a quiet word with the BiB. Although that might have invited unwanted attention from them to you, so probably best not to.

Well yes........ but the kind of people you get driving these Japanese Taxi's does very little for the Subaru image. They are now a chavs car like it or not, the 911 is perhaps more likely (dare I say it) to be driven by someone with a bit more sense.
