From what I have been told/seen in magazines the plate "911 HUL" is usually put on a 911 Turbo by Porsche GB.

They also own "911 GB" which has appeared recently on demo GT2 and GT3s. I myself have seen this plate on a red GT2 CS parked in Bristol about 18 months ago.

I have also been told that Porsche GB also own "A 911" but I am not sure about this one.

Seen "A 911" advertised at a reg. company for £22K!! Would look good but still very expensive. Think I`d rather give my car to Mr RUF and £22K.

The Registration 911 HUL has belonged to Porsche GB since at least the late 70's. Was on the first of the 3.3 Turbo's ( and was possibly on the previous 3 litre)
and every update since.

They used to have THE 928S I think too. I'm sure I saw it on a test car once, but I guess it could have been a show plate.

It was a 1995 car, I know because we bought and sold it a couple of years ago.

I am also aware of the plate '928 S'which sold privately on an immaculate 1986 928 S4 back in 1999. Car sold for £19,995, plate for another £5,500. It used to be owned by one of the worlds major royal families. Still alot of money for a car that would normally sell for around £8000 at the time.

I think that JCT 600 based in chesterfield at that time had a batch of THE plates. Its a long time ago but think they had THE 924S until recentley it was seen quite often in the Grimsby area. JCT also had THE 928S and THE 944S

911 HUL has been on Porsche Books since atleast the early 90's when I was there. It was constantly transferred at terrific rates between the press cars.

I wonder how many of you own 911's ex demos which could have once been registered on this plate?

911 HUL was bought by Porsche cars GB in 1978.
There was no specific reason for the HUL bit, simply that Porsche requested a 911 plate and that was what the DVLA (or DVLC i guess they would have been) came up with.

Performance Car did a "short history of 911 HUL" back in the early 1990's. I have it somewhere.
