993 Cruise Control

We have done it (OPC Swindon) the last one I fitted was to a 993 C2S - albeit in 1998!! Not cheap as uses factory parts, but once fitted works to OE specification. There isn't a kit per se, individual parts only - ECU with coding plug for mph, Control switch, Actuating motor, Linkages etc.
There are aftermarket kits available - fitted by auto electricians / specialists for a fraction of the price

I was going to ask the same question but you beat me to it!
There must be quite a few 993 owners who would like to retro fit cruise? I find that on long journeys, I get cramp in my right ankle and lower leg. I have tried every contortion to try and alieviate it but nothing works. I am going to Le Mans next year and need a solution before then!
I have even considered making something myself via mechanical means but every idea I have had has an element of unsatisfactory risk and is not fail safe. I have not given up though!

Fitting cruise control to Porsche 993. Hope that this thread is still active.
I have been looking at doing this for the past 4 years and have not found a complete answer.
My car is a tiptronic, late1996 build. How can I find if my wiring harness is pre-wired for cruise control.
I see the note by Pope that Swindon did a cruise control fit in 1998 to a 993.
I know that I can get the steering column stalk, the control box and the correct mechanism for the throttle control on the engine.
If the wiring is already in the car it shouldn't be too difficult, also If some extra wiring was needed from the steering column then this would be OK.

Maybe not too helpful but cruise to a 996 is doable, involves stalk assy, a DIY mini-wiring loom, and OPC activation. Not too difficult, as long as you have instructions. In effect only cost me the replacement stalk assy (which had to be replaced anyway and which was cheaper than the non-cruise type (!!) ) plus around £50 for the activation and small change for the wire and connectors.

My memory is hazy; it was nearly 20 years ago! The main loom contains the plugs as far as I recall; the small loom from the actuating servo to the main harness in the engine bay had to be fabricated.
Sourcing the parrs from breakers/ebay or direct from Porsche is just a matter of id'ing what you need.
