Boxster S gear selection problem.......

Hi guys,
I think the syncro on second gear of my 2001 Boxster S may be knackered. When the gear box oil is still cold, it is quite hard to select second gear, especially on changing down to second gear. In fact, today there was a loud crunching noise when I selected second. The problem disappeared after the car had warmed up. I nearly always heel-and-toe, and this also helps the problem.
Do you think the gear box needs stripping and the syncro sorting?

DONT WORRY ABOUT YOUR SECOND GEAR SELECTION
THAT IS PERFECTLY NORMAL ON THE BOXSTER "S".(1999 TO 2002 CARS AT LEAST - HAVENT HAD A 2003 BOXSTER "s" YET)SECOND GEAR IS STIFF ON THEM WHILE THE GEARBOX IS COLD.
WE GENERALLY DONT USE IT UNTIL THE CAR IS UP TO WORKING TEMPERATURE.
GO FROM 1ST GEAR STRAIGHT TO 3RD GEAR.
THE ENGINE IS MORE THAN HAPPY TO ACCEPT 3RD GEAR STRAIGHT FROM 1ST IF U CHANGE UP AT ABOUT 3000 RPM.
SORRY ABOUT THE UPPER CASE DOMSTER.FORGOT AGAIN!!!!!
