997 gear shift linkage in a 996?

But basically additional info is:
997 GT3 up to 2010 is circa 15% shorter throw than the 996 - This comes with plastic bushes.
997 GT3 2010 onwards is same 15% shorter throw but has metal bushes and costs circa twice as much.
Part number is: 997.424.010.91, £272.98 inc VAT (with club discount)
997 Short shift is circa 40% shorter, but to be avoided, it's stiffer and more notchy and as such takes longer to change gear.
Digging through memory I had the 15% metal bearing shift post fitted to my 2000 turbo and it was memorably a great mod, only slightly notchy and stiff on cold starts but superb during normal driving.
Now going to fit the same to my C2 and will report.
