Sounds familiar (have a 964 with a tendency to wet her flanges
I can really recommend Braunton Garage for Porsche servicing in the South West plus Porsche repair from minor to major engine and gearbox too.
They are located in North Devon, near Barnstaple.

I travel to them from Bude, Cornwall for all manner of things, from annual service, MOT and when the old girl hiccups - have no hesitation in raving about these guys.
Not just because the price for the work they have carried out for me over the years has blwon away others especially OPC Exeter (no surprises) but because they are Porsche fanatics and own and drive them daily - They work on my car like it is their own. This is something I have rarely come across when I used to live in the South East; attention to detail that makes me open my eyes about what they see on my own car ! They seem to be ahead of the game especially where corrosion spotting is concerned (I live in a salty part) and have caught a number of rust bubbles early and saved me a 'fortune'.
Like I said, I have always had a great experience with Ashley and Chris with the reassurance that they are in the Porsche club and seem to live and breath Stuttgarts finest. Enough said, I am foaming at the mouth - ha!

I used quite a few specialists in Surrey and South London area inc. OPC before heading West, and I always came away with a big bill and some quibble or other about the work.
But Ashley and Chris are the die hard, old school of Porsche engineers that make ones car better than Stuttgart could have ! What cobblers? NO! Must be cos they know the cars and they understand the purpose of the engineering and think on a lateral plane - make mine go better, deliver more power and live for longer. Seems silly but they seem to work for the love of them as their bills are always with sympathy to my wallet. Yay I say, its not often that one finds a supplier that under promises and over delivers at the right price.
They are fellow porsche owners, which helps.

I used Braunton Garage and I can see why folk rave. I had an MOT and a service with front brakes on my 3.2 and it came to a fraction of the Porsche Exeter estimate. Definitely go back there.
I am sure Ashley will be able to find your oil leak. Have you an idea where it is coming from?

I use Porsche exeter for all my servicing, even on 20 year old cars and spend about £70,000 a year with them,
Never had a problem with them, Wayne the senior technician runs a very tight ship, he's very knowledgeable and extremely helpful, takes a real pride in his work and has a genuine interest in his job, customers and the marque. I know he makes sure that all his technicians do a proper job on all the cars in their care
I even have customers in london who take their cars back to Exeter for servicing.
I know lots of people seem to think that the main dealers are out to rip people off, are full of mechanics with 3 months experience etc etc, but having sold cars for 27 years and used dozens of garages all over the country its ashame all main dealers waren't as efficeient as the team at exeter.
For older cars they have a reduced price labour rate approx £75 an hour, compared to some soth esast specialist charging £60, when you take intyo account the 2 year warranty on OPC supplied parts, they might not be as dear as you imagine.
There are quite a few other OPC's which i could name that are very shoddy, as i have learnt to my cost,

OPC labour of £75 per hour is way too high for older cars (80' and 90's). Take the 928, take it to the wrong garage and they will scratch their heads?

Try Steve Bull in Devizes - alway has a few 993's in his workshop - labour rate ~£60/hour(inc) IIRC Need some help - 993 with an oil leak !

Having read some reviews and seen a feature in a magazine, I thought I would try Braunton Garage for the porsche mot and service this year.
Result - Braunton Garage - in a word: SUPERB!
As is often the case, its all in the attention to detail.
They MOT'd my 911, which I was welcomed to standby and witness. During the procedure it was pointed out that one of my alloy wheels had a flat spot from an impact on the inside. As part of the servicing later on, they included straightening the fuchs and balancing it...
I did not even know I had a flat spot, so their sharp eyes and generous nature have left me with an all round good feeling, plus my car is better for the servicing.
Really appreciate this kind of effort and service.

Thanks to all who sent me in the direction of Ashley and Chris - Braunton Garage.
Really chuffed. The oil turned out to be the power steering pipe - split in the metal pipe which was spraying oil at pressure. Quite nasty, but a relatively cheap fix. Since then the car has been serviced and new brakes fitted. Happy to promote Ashley/Braunton Garage, very cost effective service.

Yes, Braunton Garage do seem to attract a lot of new customers.
Visit them in person to have a tour of their current projects... I was there last week - the projects seem to range from everyday servicing to a car being prepared for the Nurburgring.
