Hi chaps. Does anyone have any experience of having their car tuned by DMS? I actually have a C32 AMG but since they seem to specialise in German cars I thought it might be worthwhile asking here also.
Many thanks.

a chap came to one of my runway days, he had a Porsche 996 C2 and they had worked on the ecu, he was very pleased.

Isnt your C32 quick enough?/ are you pleased with it ?

Not sure about DMS, have heard the odd rumour about them - not sure if they have any foundation, however if you're looking for a tuner in that area, I and a number of other PHers can recommend Ray West, his details are: www.west-tuning.com tel; 01264 773839

Hi Craig, thanks for that. Further opinions also welcomed.
It is fast Craig, but its so tempting when someone advertises another 30+ BHP for circa £1.5k! I am pleased with it though. I've spent the last 5 years driving an assortment of modified turbo charged Jap stuff. This car is so much more comfortable and civilised. I do miss not being able to corner at insane speeds in the wet, but living in London the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
Cheers for now, Deep.

I would recomend West far far more highly than DMS.

Just spoken to West who seem to know what they are talking about and charge half the price of DMS!
Any further endorsements of West?

Even though DMS have been in a lot of magazines recently, promoting their company, the more reliable way of getting a good company is by word of mouth. This can generate lots of business for companies and if everyone is satisfied with their work, then I'd go with them.
Ray West seems to have a lot of supporters on this forum, and even though I have never had any work done by him myself, he would be the company I would choose just because of his good reputation.

This probably doesn't help but I thought I would put across my view

It does help actually. I was stung many times whilst modding my previous cars and so am investigating far more thoroughly this time. All comments are helpful.
Cheers,Deep.

But surely it is better to have your car re-mapped on a rolling road and not outside your house? £850 for a non-rolling road re-map is a rip off. I am no expert on this, but I suspect all they will do is plug a laptop into your ECU and download fresh maps, one for fuelling and one for ignition. Once they have plugged in their computer, it would take minutes.

I sat next to one of the chaps from Powerstation as he did a rolling road re-map on the Motec ECU in my old M3. It takes 2-3 hours, even if the tuner has a good base map to start with. If they don't have a good base map (eg when inserting a new ECU on a car they haven't worked on before) it can take all day or longer. They work for their money this way. You get the best map possible for the engine this way too. I think people should go for rolling road re-maps, or not bother at all.
