Latest Car mag new 997
Discussion
There are some very clear photos of the new 997 in the middle of this mag.
There seem to be two camps, larger purist one thinking the 993 was the best ever, and a smaller one thinking the 996 was a necesary evolvement.
Im still stuck between the two.
I look at 993s sometimes and think wow, sometimes I dont.
996s particularly when lowered look awesome, but I suppose its a matter of taste..
Anyway, the new car is a 50;50 hybrid of both cars, taking IMHO the best bits of both. 19 inch wheels standard too( ouch!)
BTW has anyone got any details of the AUtocar test between the GT3RS and the Stradale??? the GT3 was the best car apparently, but if could elaborate, I would be grateful.

I believe the neww 997 is due for it's first showing at the Geneva motor show in March.
I also understand that all 996 allocation has been suspended to UK dealers post March, does that mean that a 996 to 997 switch is in prospect ?
If you know, please tell me !
I Spoke to Porsche on Thursday and they still have no details on price/spec or even final looks to date. But a letter of intent is required to be certain of a early delivery. And my local OPC has very nearly 'sold' its allocation already.

peterpeter ref your request for further comment from the Autocar GT3RS vs Stradale test, actually as I read it, 'victory' only went to the Porsche on the basis that it was as fast as the Ferrari (almost identical) on less horsepower, and it was £40K less. Both unbeleivably good cars of course.
