ok, so who's driven or owned one ?

would be very interested to hear what they're like

Evo seemed to like them, saying they have the best sounding flat 6 of all and it almost pipped the 2.7 & won their giant 911 test:

Oh yes, ask Chris Harris about the little 'Clubbie'. He had one for several years, used as regular transport, and loved it.

I've run one for 14 years - (with a 997GT3, 2.7RSL and 987S) and it really is one of the sweetest 911s.

More modified than many people realise saving almost 90kg off a typically spec'd 3.2 Sport. Super crisp 'blueprinted' engine, lovely responsive chassis, glorious noise, great fun on road or track....

And, the stripped out specification and honed detailing, makes them very tough and reliable - there's one running around with more than 400,000 miles.

In theory someone could 'replicate' aspects of the Club Sport, using a 3.2 Carrera Sport. But it wouldn't be the real thing.

yes, my brother had one back in the mid '90's before some bd turned up with a lowloader and lifted it from the street in clapham never to be seen again. broken for parts one would imagine. it was a mint very low miles lhd german car, specified by the first owner without the whaletail. he never got over it really, and hasn't bothered with proper cars since, because he feels nothing will replace it. i drove the car extensively back then, the first 911 i ever drove in anger, both on road and track. a truely wonderful car, bulletproof mechanics and huge fun on the track. come to think of it, it's about time i added one to the fleet. they seem quite sensibly priced for an RS in all but name.

Here's mine......It's mega light and mega fast! All the Interior Is stripped and the Inside of the car Is painted. I have retained all the original Interior so everything can be put back to standard. A lovely car!

Only 340 M637 Club Sports were ever made, of which 53 rhd examples came to the UK in '88/89. All but one of the UK cars were white with red detailing. They look especially nice lined up in a display

No. The 964RS is better on track, but worse on road.

Stunning cars, been looking at them for a while since 964RS's are out of budget now.
Does anyone know the car for sale at Alpha cars, Wigan (on Autotrader website)?
£29995. High miles but, I seen a one with lowish miles for £49995 the other week so surely this isn't too bad if it's straight with no hidden nasties? I'd want evidence of an engine rebuild and new suspension parts etc, of course.
Not sure if this link will work but, here goes:

£30k seems quite a lot for a 164,000 mls example. Mind you very few of these cars come to the market each year, so you should contact the Porsche Club GB 'Club Sport' register to see if they know of any others that might be quietly for sale.

Hello Bert,

The seats are MoMo Carbon kevlar, The labels mention the Nascar Series stamped late 90s If I recall correctly. See If you can enlarge that orange label on the side of the drivers seat, It gives some details. The car has been totally stripped out and finished Inside to a very high quality as can been seen In the pics, the roof Is amazing just to look at from the drivers seat (sun roof delete of course). This was almost how I bought the car, and It was a big plus for me because I already own a standard 3.2 G50, so the fully stripped out look and feel suited me. You really can't compare the two cars, they are very different. None of the changes are life threatening to the cars original heritage, all the labels bonnet/passenger door post etc are still In place, and I have all the Interior stuff which Is In very good order, even the factory radio. The only real big move on the Inside Is the half role cage, which you will note Is bolted In so that can be taken out with no problem If I want to, It also had an under bonnet brace to stiffen the front a bit. The feel through the steering/seat/ Is very predictable, almost Kart like. The big advantage as with all things of an older model series Is that you can see every single nook and cranie on my car's bodywork Inside and out!, thats a big plus when buying of course,so I knew what was what with the structure/bodywork. It's all mint. In fact the paint on the Inside Is better than the bloody outside! I run the car with three ply floor boards driver/passenger so that protects the footwell paint. It Is the most fun of any 911 I have owned and It handles very very well. "B" roads are It's playground, that and track days of course.I do think these car's are almost as good as the 2.7RS, they are very similar although not quite as pricey.Porsche did Intend both the 2.7RS and the Clubsport would appeal to the same sort of Porsche enthusiast. The engine does seem to rev up a lot quicker than my Standard 3.2 and It really Is a joy to own and drive. I am very pleased with It. Not much else to add other than I am lucky to own such a fine car.lick
