Hi there, thanks for that, l have taken a look whats the performance like now compared to standard and was it a custom re-map taking in to account your inlet manifold etc?

Have you lloked at bigger brakes as mine look tinny behind the 19's

Cheers

Performance wise, its only about 35bhp above standard, but the delivery over 4000 rpm is so much more agressive compared to stock. It is noticably quicker than standard, and quicker than a Gen 2 Manual 3.4 from the word go.

The Map was developed to work with the mods, you can also get a Map for a standard car with no exhaust/intake mods.

Never had an issue with brakes, but GT3 Rear Pads on the front are a good upgrade

You have done a few mods now Shan, what is the next step?

Love the look of the GT3 front end and lights on the Cayman, looks superb!

That front end looks very very cool,

Regarding the brakes, it is not that they dont work it is that they look silly behind 19" rims l think,

It seems like for what you have done comparativly compared to the DMS tune you have not gained massivly? l am sure though that alot is in the drivability

I agree on the size behind 19"s

You can fit the 6 pot GT3 calipers as I have seen them on a Cayman at Parr.

I like the sounds of GT3 calipers, l need to look into sourcing some of them as the standard ones look silly

Looks great in Seal Grey. GT3 calipers would look great.

If you go onto 6speedonline.com you will find out what is needed to fit them.

These would look amazing on your car. Having seen them in the flesh, they are truly stunning.

http://www.planet-9.com/site-vendors-sponsors/3339...

As for the DMS upgrade. Be very very careful. There are a lot of documented cases on planet-9 (AKA caymanclub.net) about maps that have been causing catalytic converter issues/burnouts/failures, as the cats are very close to the heads on the Cayman. Most remaps just throw fuel at the job, resulting in unburnt fuel in the cats and rapid deterioration (is my basic understanding).

The Softronic has free upgrades for life, so you can have the basic software with no mods on the car, then as you add things like exhaust, plenum, headers, etc, Scott will alter the map to suit. Plus he will enable things like Sport Chrono Sport throttle maps and PSM if you want those things but don't have Sport Chrono fitted.

1st off this comment is a little stupid sorry
" I have a 57 plate Cayman S and it is a little to slow,"

It's 11.2 to 100mph , imho that's is quite a quick car.
when you look at a mini cooper s takes 21 seconds to do the same.
and the new Focus RS takes 14.5 seconds !!!!!

but yes you can make it faster but do it right, fit the softronic kit with the bigger Gt3 throttle body and exhaust and get a 10 seconds 100mph car with 340 Bhp.

Don't think any one is doing gen 2 PDK maps yet.

as for people saying lower it and put 19" wheels on it, these are 2 of the worse things you can do to a Cayman
H&R springs cannot give you the rake you need on the car and make it handle worse, same goes for 19" car is better with 18"
I tested both.

ALso you don't need bigger brakes, just set some alloy belly disks and some RS42 pagid pads, infact just get new pads.
you will not get any fade and save £2k+ into the bargin.

my old car with super smooth power curve, yummy

I hope the new owner is looking after it.

Mrdemon,

I should say l think it is slow because l had a 383bhp Evo 8 before hand and it felt a dam sight faster, regarding the brakes, if l am honest it is a vanity choice, they look far to small simple as that,

Lee, it really does need lowering and bigger brakes, but then l am seeing Maria on Saturday so who knows what she has up her sleeve

Jackwood, those brakes look very nice, do you have an idea of the cost of this kit?

Lee, it really does need lowering and bigger brakes,

er no and no :-)

I though EVo's were a bit slow even tuned ones, fast to 60mph due to traction but not that fast from 60-100 mph
My standard Cayman S was quicker than a tuned Evo 60-100MPh

my tuned one would eat them.

put 18" wheels back on, the brakes will look big then ;-) and the car will feel much much better.

What is the spec of your tuned one? I ran my Evo against the Cayman and up to 100 the Evo was there after that the Cayman did start to stretch its legs but not massivly, we are though talking 383bhp against a standard Cayman,

Regarding the DMS package it is 25bhp approx and 27lbft approx and 850 +vat
