Hello,
I'm from the BMW forum having just sold my E46 m3 for a '96 993 carrera which I collected on Saturday.
I'm chuffed to bits with it but have a couple of questions which hopefully some of you might be able to help with.
There's a buzzing from in front of the passenger area - is this a dirty fuel filter causing the noise or is the fuel pump about to give up?
Also the car doesn't have a CD changer but the head unit is an OEM item which is control capable. I've been told that the car is pre wired to accept a changer but where does the cable run to in the front?
TIA.

Hi John,
How's the boxster?? Do you miss your sport evo??
Sold mine just after xmas and replaced it with an e46 but there isn't any comparison really - traction control and sport buttons aren't my thing...
The Boxster rocks. Nice every day car. I've been rolling around with the hood down for the last couple of days!
I thought about an E46 M3 as well. I think they're OK if you are above 5K revs all day, otherwise it is too close to a lesser E46 when driving around town. The Boxster S on the other hand does low speed thrills as well....just like your 993. You have fine taste!
What the Boxster S isn't is razor sharp. The Sport Evo had precise feelsome steering....the Boxster's is less good. My Sport Evo mit MoTec/cams/Milltek exhaust would rev like a motorbike, the Boxster S doesn't....it could do with a lighter flywheel and a sports exhaust! Boxster RS, anyone?
Hi Riccardo
The buzzing noise is possibly your interior heater fan. Mine does it every now and then and I either switch it off or turn to another speed for a while and that seems to cure it.
The CD cable runs to the spare wheel compartment under the carpet under the front lid. The changer unit is usually bolted to the hardboard under the carpet and drops into place with the spare wheel.
Hope this helps

Yeh! It`s precision located to remain impervious to slight bumps, potholes, gravel and anything that you drive over!
Oh, and I forgot to mention that it definitly doesn`t take up any valuable luggage space!

No doubt someone far more knowledgeable will correct me if I'm wrong, but if it's a C4, it would be the ABS pump boosting the system every now and then - quite normal so I'm told.
