Daft question - Boxster Fuel Cut Off?

Hi All,

Daft question but does a Boxster have an inertia type fuel cut off switch? I have a friend who can't get his car started after an accident.

The airbag ECM can send crash data around the car (unlock locked doors etc), but there isn't an inertia style cut-out like an old Ford or such. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery as a first - (ignition on before disconnecting if it's a 986 or the alaram will go off) leave it a couple of minutes before reconnecting it.

If the airbag has sent a crash signal to the DME then you may need it cancelled before it will restart - not heard of it before though?

DME - Digital Motor Electronic - It's the engine management control module, it controls fuelling and ignition right from the fuel pump relay to the ignition coils and is linked to the Alarm module for immobilisation and the other modules for data transfer. Made by Bosch.
