Good Bye Cayman
Discussion
After 18 months of Cayman ownership, today i sold my beloved Porsche and bough an R8.
Anyone who wants to buy a Cayman; Do NOT hesitate. Its a great car. Handles really well, powerful and very easy to drive. Just be ready for very hard suspension and rattles.
I was tired of on going rattles and squeaky noises and Porsche refusing to fix the electric window under warranty really put me off and i sold the car. Maybe i over reacted but it was time for a change anyway

so whats R8 like in comparison = in a funny way I think the R8 is he car the Cayman should in terms of tech spec be but have never driven an R8. Loved Cayman but felt it was underpowered even is S form and also overpriced.
R8 is in a totally different league. Feels big, the engine "sings" much better and inside you have more space (important if you are big guy like me) and is very powerful (420bhp). I have driven a gallardo and R8 feels and looks like Gallardo but its more practical and easier to drive and i can fit in it without any issues.Supercar without the usual supercar drawbacks as they say !

very interested to find out how the R8 is after a Cayman (have been thinking that will be my next move), does it feel significantly faster? How is it through the twisties compared to the Cayman?
there is a huge difference. You really feel the power of the car. It handles beautifully, very stable. I would say its better than the cayman in terms of handling. Its wider and heavier, maybe thats why.Cayman is a great car, i enjoyed it very much but the R8 is something else.
if you do it you wouldnt look back.
the only disturbing side of R8 is it gets far too much attention. People keep looking at you. ok, maybe its not a bad thing !

. I had totally similar views, but mine had pasm with 19" and the ride wasnt that bad and no rattles but the car always felt underpowered but handled wonderfully. Just got a Gen 1 997 C2S and the comparison with how you feel with the R8 vs Cayman is almost identical to how I feel. Big step up despite the journos all seeming to say the CaymanS is very close to the 997.

what colour is the R8? Does it have "sideburns" or is the same colour all over? I'm not keen when the collar and cuffs don't match
Its black. exactly the same as :
