What would you pay for a 60K mile, LHD, 964 C2? The one I am looking at is in good condition with full leather and well documented history. Cup alloys, clear lenses and tear drop mirrors.
The car is being offer though a small specialist dealer.

All help much appreciated.

I paid about that for a higher mileage LHD 964C2 fully specced (desirable colour, full leather, Climate, 17" etc.)

Good choice BTW

And don't forget to get it independantly inspected!

Thanks for your comments.

The price being quoted is a shade under £16K.

Room for negotiation IMO. You can get a LHD 993 for 18.5k upwards and a 993 is a significantly better can in many respects.

Where might I find a 993 for this price? i have not been able to source a reasonable example for less than early 20's.

In an ideal world I would be stretching for a 993 but I have set a budget. If however I can find one for less than 20K I would be tempted.

Although they start at 18.5k, be wary of getting such a cheap one. They do tend to have less wrong with them than 964s tho'. Get the best one you can afford, I'd say 20-22k should get a decent left hooker. If you are stuck on RHD, then the 964 is obviously the sensible option - but I'd be tempted by a 968CS with all the track bits for similar money.

Henry (fellow PHer and trader - www.911virgin.com ) often has 911s within your budget, and I must mention Joel (another occasional PHer) at www.rsjsportscars.co.uk again, simply because he is carving himself a niche as a major supplier of inexpensive LHD 993s.

PS Cheapest 993 I could find at short notice was £17,437 here:

But you'd have to import it from the Fatherland!

Many thanks for your comments. Your were under a bit of pressure to find an 18K example and came up trumps.

I have spent the majority of the afternoon thinking this over and am now thinking 993's (tomorrow 996TT,s)!

Been checking out RSJ site for some time and they seem competitve.

Would you rec a 6 speed over tip? Sorry for all the questions, I will get a buyers guide I promise.

Tip is OK, but the 6 speed manual is sweet and will sell on better. That would be my choice.

In all seriousness, it would be interesting to know what tidy 964 cabrios go for and what colour it is

Good luck with the sale, anyway. Might be worth putting in PH classifieds.

From what I can tell reading between the lines, you are pricing it very competitively, so anyone currently after a 3.2/C2 should consider it.

It is a bit lost in the classifieds, so maybe resubmit - perhaps with a piccie if possible.

Cheers
Dom
